This should be taken in blocks of calendar months to make it easy for administration and checking by staff of pro-ration done on salary and benefits. Therefore, Annual Leave may need to be taken to cover days or weeks outside the approved calendar month(s) if the need for No-pay leave does not fall squarely into calendar months.
For the benefit of manpower planning, lead-time for such approvals should be equal to the duration of the No-pay Leave being applied for. Also for the same reason, the Board of Elders will be the approving authority for No-pay Leave.
No-pay Leave approvals terminate once the staff’s resignation is accepted.
