Sabbaticals

  • Pastors may apply for a sabbatical lasting six calendar months after completing six years of continuous service with Hebron as an ordained pastor. Non-continuous service may be considered by the discretion of the BOE.
  • Non-ordained pastors and ministry staff may apply for a sabbatical lasting three calendar months after completing six years of continuous service with Hebron as a pastor or ministry staff. Non-continuous service may be considered by the discretion of the BOE.
  • Staff may apply for this sabbatical through a proposal on how the sabbatical would be utilized for rest and renewal. The Senior Pastor would recommend it and the BOE will be the approving authority.
  • It is possible that this sabbatical be taken in instalments with the shortest instalment length of one calendar month.
  • Staff will continue to enjoy all salary and benefits as he would as an employee during the sabbatical. Should he spend his time overseas, some of the benefits are not portable and the onus is for him to check and be aware of what might not be portable.
  • Sabbaticals do not carry any bond.
